Frequently asked questions about Disolact lactase
Question: I would like to know how often you can use Disolact. Can it do any harm to use it every day?
Answer: You can use Disolact several times a day. Any excess consumed will not do any harm, and leaves the body in a natural way.
Question: Hello, I would like to know how many drops of Disolact are required for a cup of cream, a litre of custard, etc.
Answer: In terms of lactose content these products hardly differ from each other. In principle, we advise five drops per litre. We have noticed, however, that is difficult to mix the drops properly in thick liquids, and therefore we use 10 drops per litre of custard and 5 drops per cup of cream.
Question: Last weekend I went out to eat and took several of them. I still had problems with my stomach. Now I would like to know if I should take less, but of the stronger variety, and whether this also works better.
Answer: The regular capsules contain 3,000 FCC lactase, the Extra Forte lactase capsules contain 10.000 FCC of lactase. You will probably be better off using these.
Don’t forget that the starters and sauces in restaurants often contain cream and/or real butter. So be sure to take a lactase pill in time.
Question: What is the best time to take disolact, before or after eating?
Answer: The lactase has to be able to do its work in the digestive tract. This works best if the product containing lactose and the lactase arrive there at the same time. Therefore the best time to take the Disolact capsule is just before or during the meal.
Question: I am receiving treatment from an alternative therapist and I now receive a large quantity of lactase drops per day (100ml in 1 litre of water), and that will be phased out from next week.
I would like to know what is the best dose to continue taking to maintain my condition, once I am no longer receiving treatment. The capsules seem to me to be easier to use.
Answer: For therapeutic use we would refer you to your therapist. He will know why you have had lactase prescribed and how much you still need to take.
Question: Another question…….on your website it says “depending on the extent of intolerance and the quantity of milk products to be used, you should take1-3 Disolact capsules at the same time as the milk product.”
Is the idea that you take 1-3 lactase capsules with each milk product, or is 1-3 capsules per day enough………….
Answer: The lactase has to be able to do its work in the digestive tract. This works best if the product containing lactose and the lactase arrive there at the same time. Therefore the best time to take the Disolact capsule is just before or whilst consuming the milk product.
Question: Can you take one pill in the morning and then drink milk the whole day?
Answer: The lactase has to be able to do its work in the digestive tract. This works best if the product containing lactose and the lactase arrive there at the same time. Therefore the best time to take the Disolact capsule is just before or whilst consuming the milk.

Questions about the use of Disolact lactase during pregnancy and breast feeding
Question: Are all the products okay to use whilst breastfeeding?
Answer: Yes, lactase does not get taken up in breast milk. Be aware, though, that your breast milk also contains lactose. Are you or your partner lactose intolerant since birth? In that case you should be aware that your baby may have inherited this condition from you.
Question: Can the droplets also be added to baby food?
Answer: Yes, the lactase droplets can be added to baby food. Two or three drops per bottle is more than enough.
Question: I would like information about the possibility of using the droplets whilst pregnant!?!
Answer: Unfortunately I’m not able to answer your question. There has simply never been research carried out into this. In view of the biological process involved, the type of enzyme and the extensive use of lactase, we do not expect that lactase has any influence on an unborn child. But unfortunately we cannot prove this on the basis of scientific research.
Question: Is it DISOLUT or DISOLACT
Answer: DISOLUT is the name of our company; it is an acronym for DIetary SOLUTions, DISOLACT is the brand name of our lactase product.
Question: How long can I keep Disolact drops after I have opened them? I use one or two litres of milk per week. And can I also use the drops in yoghurt and curds?? I look forward to your answer, with thanks.
Answer: Once opened, the drops can be kept for one year. You can also use the drops in yoghurt and curds. However, because these products are acidic, the drops will not work as well as in sweet products. For this reason, we recommend that you do not use the drops with acidic products, but that you use the capsules during consumption.
Question: Are the pills that contain three times as much also three times as big, or are they the same size?
Answer: fortunately only the lactase content is three times as great. The ordinary capsules are 1.6 cm long, the Extra Forte are 1.9 cm long.
Question: Can you tell me whether Disolact lactase is also free of sesame seeds and nuts?
Answer: Disolact contains only lactase, silica (purified sand that has been ground to a flour). The capsule contains vegetarian gelatine (algae). Production takes place in a factory where other products are also processed. Even though the chance is minimal, we cannot exclude the possibility that traces of sesame seed or nuts can be present.
Question: I wonder if you have any experience with people becoming immune to these capsules. This is often unclear.
Answer: Lactase is an enzyme which only plays a role in the digestion of lactose. So you cannot become immune to it.
Question: Between the last time I ordered lactase capsules and this time, I noticed that there is a difference, both in colour and the amount of powder in the capsule. The colour is whiter and there is more powder in the capsule. Has something being changed in the composition and concentration of the lactase? I would like to know this in connection with estimating how much lactase I need with the products. Thanks in advance for your answer.
Answer: Well spotted! Lactase is a product that is produced by a natural process. This is the reason that a small colour, aroma, or taste difference can occur. Because each batch is tested for its FCC values, we can guarantee that each capsule contains at least 3,000 FCC or 10,000 FCC respectively.
Question: Are DISOLACT lactase EXTRA FORTE (10,000 FCC) also sold in such a small handy container?
Answer: Yes, the Extra Forte is sold in the same container. Since November 2012 the pots of 150 capsules (3,000 FCC) which the wholesalers delivered have been replaced with a box containing 3 containers. The same goes for the Extra Forte 120 capsules.
Question: Is it possible to acquire this product in Spain? If so could you give me the Spanish brand name so that I can enquire about it at the chemists.
Answer: Unfortunately, our products are only available in the Netherlands and in Belgium. However, you can simply order them from our web shop: we send them free of charge to other countries. So far we have had experience with Spain (including Ibiza), Italy, the USA, Canada, Mexico, South Africa, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, France, and Scandinavia.
Question: I have ordered droplets and capsules from you. My question is: what is the maximum daily capsule dose?
Answer: There is no maximum daily dose. The amount of lactase that you need depends from the amount of milk products/lactose that you consume. Any excess lactase consumed leaves the body in a natural way.
